چکیده
This article deals with modelling and experimental characterisation of the continuum dynamic response dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) subject to high-frequency voltage excitation. DEAs are capable large deformations in an electrostatic stimulus, they show operating bandwidths up a few kilohertz. Although DEA systems normally make use simple deformation patterns well-defined main actuation mode, complex structural dynamics mode shapes if high frequency inputs. Taking advantage these potentially allows developing multi-function actuators, audio devices vibration isolators perform different tasks using regimes. We first present multi-domain model for DEAs, accounting contribution air pressure loads generated membrane vibrations, which play relevant role dynamics. then extensive samples’ based on laser Doppler vibrometer measurements. In particular, we measure velocity spectra through broadband excitation correspondence wide set design control parameters (namely, geometric layout, mechanical-preload applied bias). Based results, validate proposed model, demonstrate that forced can be efficiently described lumped-parameter computationally efficient reduced reformulation. • Continuum lumped models vibrations elastomers (DEs). Dielectric elastomer membranes undergoing inhomogeneous deformation
Dielectric elastomers are capable of large deformation subject to an electric voltage and are promising for use as actuators, sensors, and generators. Because of large deformation, nonlinear equations of states, and diverse modes of failure, modeling the process of electromechanical transduction has been challenging. This paper studies a membrane of a dielectric elastomer deformed into an out-o...

متن کاملHigh-speed, compact, adaptive lenses using in-line transparent dielectric elastomer actuator membranes
Electrically tunable adaptive lenses provide several advantages over traditional lens assemblies in terms of compactness, speed, efficiency, and flexibility. We present an elastomer-liquid lens system which makes use of an in-line, transparent electroactive polymer actuator. The lens has two liquid-filled cavities enclosed within two frames, with two passive outer elastomer membranes and an int...
